About Nom Wah Philadelphia
Nom Wah Philadelphia is a dim sum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 218 N 13th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under cantonese restaurant, chinese restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 amβ8:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Very good dim sum! Our favorite was the tofu wrapper with vegetables, wow that was good! Nice small atmosphere too, enjoyed the dinner.

Nom Wah was the perfect lunch stop on a cold Philly day with my babe. Close, cozy, and full of life without feeling chaotic. The dumplings were fresh and flavorful, and the whole experience felt easy and authentic. Such a good find in the middle of the city. Canβt wait to be back, the staff were so warm and welcoming!

This place was great, it was very tiny so I definitely recommend getting reservations. The service was fast and the food came out very quickly. We ordered a whole bunch of dishes to try as itβs all small plates for sharing. Lots of dumplings and other Chinese dishes. It was a really fun experience and I would definitely come back again! I tried some new foods I hadnβt had before so that was very fun! I would say my favorite dishes were the ho fun noodles, the garlic eggplant, the turnip cakes (which were a nice surprise as Iβd never had them before!) and the steamed pork bun! It was the biggest I had ever seen and the best I had ever eaten out of the few dumpling restaurants i have been to! Itβs definitely a must if you like dumplings! Visit this place!

Last night in Philly, walking distance from the hotel, last-minute reservation -- and it ended up being the perfect way to close out the trip. Nom Wah is tiny. Don't let that fool you. This place is a straight-up dim sum and dumpling situation, and it delivers hard. We ordered way too much food, which I maintain was the correct decision. The spread: house special roast pork bun (pillowy, porky, perfect), pan-fried dumplings (crispy bottoms, juicy inside -- the way it should be), soup dumplings (golden, delicate, dangerous if you're impatient), scallion pancakes (flaky, savory, we did not share these equally), spring rolls (classic, crispy, no notes), and honestly some other stuff I've already forgotten because by that point we were deep in a dim sum fugue state. We finished almost all of it. Almost. We tried. And the price? An absolute steal. The kind of meal where you check the bill twice because you're sure something's missing. If you're in Philly and you want dumplings done right in a no-fuss spot that punches way above its weight, Nom Wah is the answer.

The first dim sum restaurant in Philly with great prices and good portions. Best dishes here was the Phoenix Bun, Stuffed Eggplant, and their Turnip Cake, but you truly can't go wrong with any of the options. They are known for their steamed pork buns, which tasted good, but not my favorite. I also wish they offered vinegar for the soup dumplings. They provide you with a thorough menu with pictures and you mark which options you'd like. The service is speedy and friendly. Thee staff is fast about removing and bringing plates. The restaurant is rather small/tight, so depending on when you come, you may need to wait a little bit or eat at the bar. A fun part is the wallpaper in the restroom that shows different dim sum options with descriptions.
